OLPS Grad Ball 2015

It’s prom season again! I was surprised to get bookings for proms/grad balls this year despite the K-12 program. Apparently, schools still organize evening events for their students – a good thing for us makeup artists. But for this post, I’m going to talk about the clients I had for proms/grad balls last year – particularly from OLPS, Antipolo.

First on the list is Marjorie. I’ve worked with her several times before. She was one of the first people I included in my Antipolo makeup artist portfolio, so I’m quite familiar with her face. She noted that she wanted gold eyeshadow and dramatic lips. Here’s the look I created for her:

When I was creating her look for her grad ball, I made a mental note that I would include a photo of her hairstyle. It was so difficult to do! There’s a French twist in the middle and a bunch of hair roses at the sides. This hairstyle was inspired by Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle (my sister and I were so into J-Law during that time):

This next look was one of my favourite ones to do because my client was willing to add drama to her look. Bianca wanted smokey eyes and red lips. Her super straight hair went perfectly with the entire look. So fierce and sexy!

When I saw Jamaine’s face, I knew that her gentle features would go well with bridal, spring makeup. I used some subtle earth tones for her eyeshadow and a pinkish nude hue for her lips.

For Jayneille, I had more freedom to use more hues since her gown was colourful. I used brown, purple and nude for her eyeshadow and pink for her lips:

Last but definitely not the least on my list is Roselle. Like Marjorie, I’ve worked with Roselle several times prior to this. I can still remember how stunning she was when she joined her school’s Bb. Kalikasan pagent, wearing a gown made from recycled materials. By the way, she won that competition. Here’s the look I created for her for her grad ball:

Because a lot of teenage girls love the messy updo, I’m also including Roselle’s hairstyle to this post:
