“Beauty and brains.” That’s what I heard about Brielle the first time I worked with her. I did her makeup for her high school graduation ball, and I could tell that she really was beautiful. Months after, she contacted me and asked me to do her makeup for a fashion event at her university. We had a lot of time to spare to talk about her life, so I asked her about her course. She’s taking up Biochemistry at the University of Santo Tomas because she plans to go to med school afterwards. Her mom, who by the way was a very accommodating person, also said that she qualified for a pre-med course at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. On a superficial level, she indeed embodied the phrase, “beauty and brains.” But what really made believe that she lives up to her reputation was her attitude. I am familiar (not on a personal level) with most of the popular students from her high school, and I asked Brielle what she thought of them. She never spoke ill of her peers and only had kind words about them. For me, that’s what “beauty and brains” really meant–always wishing well for others and knowing how to maintain a good reputation and harmonious relationship with your peers. She will always be one of my favorite clients to work with.
Here are some photos my sister took during the event:
